Rossio

In these difficult times, we Portuguese like to continue sharing the beauty and magic of our country.
A fantastic series of black-and-white photographs, popular at the time, shows us what Lisbon was like in the early and mid-20th century.
Some photos reveal the bustling movement that could already be felt in the streets of Lisbon back then, while others remind us of a city without the traffic frenzy we experience today—though for different reasons. We live in cycles, and photographs preserve in our memory the images we hold on to and revisit over time.
